- Pontocho lanterns and dinner. Kissa Soiree is an optional earlier dessert stop.
Travel: Mostly walking. Market to mipig: around 5-10 min; across to Gion: 15-20 min; Gion/Shirakawa to Pontocho: around 10-20 min.

Arashiyama, all in one day
- 07:30-08:00 target
- Leave your Shijo hotel. Subway to Kyoto Station, then JR Sagano Line to Saga-Arashiyama; walk to adjacent Torokko Saga. Aim to be there by 08:30.
- First train target
- Current timetable pattern: 09:02 Torokko Saga to 09:25 Torokko Kameoka. March 2027 operation and times are not confirmed; new trains are due in spring 2027.
- Earliest compatible boat
- Current transfer pattern: bus 09:35, pier about 09:45. A 10:00 boat only works if the voucher check-in permits it; otherwise pre-arrange a taxi or choose the next suitable slot. Book Klook activity 74947: 2-Hour Hozugawa River Boat Ride.
- Around noon, if 10:00 boat
- Land in Arashiyama. Rilakkuma Sabo lunch/shop; shorten the cafe stop if there is a queue.
- Afternoon priorities
- Okochi Sanso, bamboo grove and Tenryu-ji before last entry. If ahead of schedule, taxi to Otagi and take the extended downhill route below.
Travel: Shijo-Saga-Arashiyama: allow 45-65 minutes including the Kyoto Station connection. Scenic train about 23 minutes; bus about 10 minutes plus walk/wait. Boat about 2 hours, with possible departure delays.
16 March 2027 is Tuesday. No confirmed 2027 train or boat calendar was found. Keep all Arashiyama on this date. The full northern walk remains ambitious; shorten it if needed. If Sagano is not operating, reach the boat via JR Kameoka and retain the Arashiyama afternoon.
Extended walk, same day: landing → Rilakkuma → taxi to Otagi → Adashino / Saga Toriimoto → Gio-ji → Ogura Pond → Okochi Sanso → bamboo → Tenryu-ji. Only attempt the full route if time permits.

Ryokan, baths & good food
- Morning

- Afternoon
- Ryokan check-in, baths and downtime. Travel early if the property is outside Kyoto.
- Evening
- Ryokan dinner or a good local meal, following the property's dining time.
Travel: The map marks a central Kyoto placeholder area only. Actual routing depends on the ryokan; a stay outside Kyoto may change tomorrow's transfer.
